Bringing National and International Art to Edinburgh

Véronique Guerrieri

The Nice-based sculptor is regarded by her peers as an exceptional talent. André Verdet described her sculptures as not only being beautifully crafted but also combine a daring sense of humour and whimsical derision.

Born in 1954, Guerrieri studied both in the Louvre Art School and in Beaux-Arts School. She has collaborated with other leading international artists including Arman, Morio Matsui, Rancillac and Klasen.

Her work is selectively exhibited in prestigious international galleries in France, China, the USA and now for the first time in the UK at Urbane Art Gallery in Edinburgh.

In wanting to give the viewer space to create their own narrative about her artwork, Véronique realised Doudou, Boy and Lapin. Doudou has a very caring relationship with the bunny rabbit in contrast to the Boy’s relationship which is more controlling. Lapin is confused by the mix signals from the children and begins as a consequence to exist in his own right.
